Documentations of the installation and performances at Communitism

Amygdalium Impressioning, a video installation with peformaces at Communitism, Athens, 2021.

Performance length: 10-15mins

Amygdalium Impressioning
is an experimental project in collaboration with  artist Markella Ksilogiannopoulou and theatre director Shimin Ji, realised during our residencies in Athens. The installation included a video projected on the wall, a fire pit burning lavender, a diagram drawn on the ground, with candles and objects lying around, and a live performance.

Amygdalium Impressioning
attempts to tell a story of an unknown species which relies on human's fear to survive. Due to their lack of physical strength, they resort to using their psychic powers to project images onto human minds based on their subconscious fear. The live performance presents the feeding ritual of this species, performed by Qianlin and Shimin, transforming human fear through the objects they attached to into different energies. While Markella represents a sexy middlewoman, who tricked people into joining the ritual.
